🛑 You Are Not Broken
Mental Health, Crisis, and Custody – What You Need to Know
If you are hurting, you are not alone.
If you feel like you’re drowning, like no one sees what’s happening — you are not crazy, and you are not weak.
This system is brutal. It punishes empathy. It punishes presence. It punishes any parent who won’t play the game of silence.
And too many good men and women carry unbearable weight until it breaks them.
🧠 Mental health challenges during custody battles are common — and they do not mean you’re unsafe or unfit.
They mean you’re human. They mean you care.
⚖️ Worried About Asking for Help? Here’s What You Need to Know
Too often, the fear of being labeled — as unstable, unfit, or “emotionally volatile” — stops parents from getting the help they need.
Here’s the truth:
Getting help is not weakness.
Not getting help increases the risk of collapse.
✅ You CAN Say:
- “I’m carrying a lot right now, and I’m working to stay grounded.”
- “I’ve reached out to a counselor to support my parenting during this difficult time.”
- “I’m committed to my child’s well-being, and I’m managing the stress constructively.”
- “This is hard, but I’m not alone — I’m getting the tools I need.”
- “My priority is showing up for my child in a healthy, stable way — and that includes caring for myself.”
❌ Avoid Phrases That Can Be Twisted:
- “I can’t take this anymore.”
- “My life is over.”
- “I’m on the edge.”
- “I want to give up.”
- “If I lose my kid, I’ll lose everything.”
⚠️ These may feel true in the moment — but in written messages, texts, or court filings, they can be twisted into accusations of instability.
When you need to express pain, do it in a safe space — with trusted allies, support groups, or protected therapeutic settings.
🚨 If You’re in Crisis, Read This First:
You don’t have to be strong all the time.
You don’t have to “prove your sanity” to survive this.
You just have to hold on long enough to reach safety.

You don’t have to explain everything. Just say:
🟢 “I need someone to talk to.”
🟢 “I’m overwhelmed, but I want to stay safe.”
🟢 “I’m scared, but I want to get through this.”
🐾 Signal‑4 Is Here Because You Made It This Far
You are not alone. The pain you’re feeling — it’s real.
The system’s silence — it’s real.
The fact that you’re still here? That’s strength.
We exist because of you.
Because you didn’t give up.
Because you chose to stay, even when it made no sense.
There is a way through.
And you are not broken.
